 We
are all created by God, in His image. We have bodies and spirits,
and it is universal across humanity that in all times and all
cultures, people have a sense of longing for "something more", a
"higher power" -- all attempts for lonely souls to find and know
God.
God had a plan, from the very beginning, to save people and call
them together as His own. He replaces alienation with adoption as
His children. He covers rebelliousness with forgiveness. And in
Jesus Christ, he provides a focus for that desperate longing in
every single human heart.
Jesus came to the world not to condemn it (which he is entitled
to do), but to save it. He established His Church, and gave His
apostles authority over that Church. The Church is called the Bride
of Christ, and Jesus gave His life for her. The Church assails the
very gates of Hell, freeing souls to know God, and to worship Him.
And this church, this same Church, has endured for almost 2,000
years, and is known as the Orthodox Church.
A few words on a website can't possibly cover all that God has in
store for you. But we pray it can be the start of a journey Home.
