Saint Katherine Orthodox Church
Special Announcement(s)

  • January 10, 2015 - In honor of one of the oldest Christian Traditions in the West, we will be celebrating a special Divine Liturgy on Saturday for the first "Ember Day" of the year.

  • January 11/18, 2015 - We will be serving a special Divine Liturgy of Saint John Chrysostom, in honor of the Eastern Christian tradition of the ancient church.

  • January and February - The temple is undergoing significant, and much needed, repairs to the ceiling, a/c system and electrical wiring.  During this time, we will hold all church services at the usual times in the fellowship hall.  We appreciate the great donations of time, talent and treasure which made these repairs possible.  Check out our buildng fund page for details on all the work that has been complete.
Welcome to Our Parish!

Dear Internet Visitor,

Welcome to the website for Saint Katherine Orthodox Church in Pelion, South Carolina.  We hope you enjoy using this website, and invite you to experience the Divine Liturgy on Sunday mornings at 9:30am (doors open at 9:00am).

Here's a little introduction to who we are...

We are a young mission church planted in the rural area of Pelion, SC at the cross roads of Cherry Blossom and Clay Hill.  We have a small country church, and we are extremely active in the community by living the Gospel and helping people find the road that leads to the Father through Jesus Christ.  We are very strong supporters of homeschoolers throughout South Carolina, and also run a dedicated Pro-Life ministry.

As Orthodox Christians, we follow the Traditions and Scriptures of the early Christian Church.  The Gospel you have heard all your life may, or may not, be the same Gospel taught by the original Christian Church.  I suggest reading the article, "The Original Christian Gospel", to begin to open the door to how much the Gospel we hear today has gone off track from what Jesus Christ and His Apostle preached and practiced.

People who are looking for a Christian community, who place great value on the worship of God, in thought, word, and deed, will be very comfortable here.  We don't claim perfection by a long shot, but we're in it together and have 2,000 years of documented church history to help us along the way.  As a small new mission, be prepared to be treated like family.

If you'd like to make an appointment to come by, feel free to contact us by email or phone.

God bless you!
